100% Garnacha
Gaznata Finca Mariano is the first single vineyard Garnacha that Daniel Ramos has made at Don Juan del Águila after much time working with the old Garnacheros of El Barraco. Granitic sandy soil, 1050 meters of alt, low yielding old vines.
Spontaneous fermentation in small open tank, with malolactic and further aging taking place in barrel. Fined with egg whites, but not filtered.
10 months in used French, 500L barrel
Gaznata Finca Mariano is exclusively available in Belgium via Odilon Imports. Please contact them for purchasing inquiries in your area.

Tasting Notes, etc.:
Gaznata Finca Mariano is a very elegant, bright Garnacha that shows off the potential and elegance of single vineyard Garnachas from the very cold, windy village of El Barraco. The wine has a bright cherry colour and is very elegant and expressive on the nose with flowers and cherry gum drops... a pretty wine, with complexity. Very dry, with soft tannin and a big explosion of red raspberries, cherries, minerality, asian 5 spice, vanilla and mountain herbs as the wine glides across your palate. You are left with a long and luscious layer of fruit, spice and vanilla on the finish.
