Copaboca Verdejo 2011 (white)
Region: DO Rueda
These Verdejo vineyards grow on the plateau along the bank of the Rio Duero. Soils vary from gravelly, alluvial soils to sand & clay. The vines are trellised 6 Cordon trained. Sustainable viticulture is practiced w leaf thinning & green harvest to insure good fruit concentration & ripeness levels.
The grapes are crushed, de-stemmed, and pressed. The must is allowed to settle before racking off and inoculated, then left to ferment in temperature controlled Stainless Steel tanks, producing a fruit driven and fresh young wine. Fined, filtered and cold stabilized.
Magnum Wines International will be bringing these wines in through Rhode Island into many states in the Eastern USA.
Tasting Notes, etc.:
Copaboca Verdejo is a fresh, fruity young wine with white flowers, gooseberries, honeydew melon, and pink grapefruit on the nose. The palate mirrors the nose, with all of the fruit present & a luscious mouthfeel lifted by bright acidity with a lengthy, minerally finish
